When first starting ePSXe you will notice a bunch of annoying problems.
We are also working on an automatic solution to detect and fix any config issue in ePSXe. Check the Blog post for more informations about its current state.
Fix Blackscreen issues
No 1: first check if cpu overclocking is set to x1 (this is a known issue with epsxe)
No 2: then get the petes opengl2 video plugin from here http://www.pbernert.com/html/gpu.htm and make sure to configure the right one (not the “core” version)
No 3: also make sure u are using a real bios file and that HLE bios is unchecked
Video is not centered, has wrong scale and is out of border
No 4: If the video is not centered, has wrong scale and is out of border, this setting should help… right click epsxe.exe – Properties – Compatibility – Change high DPI settings – check “Override high DPI scaling behavior.” and select “Application”
Fix “Missing render-texture extension!”
if u get an error message saying “Missing render-texture extension!” check if selected Render mode is set to “1: Render to pbuffer…”
Fix broken/crackling sound
